Throughout my career building a trusting relationship amongst my clients and colleagues has been my professional focus. The last thirty years in this business have been fulfilling. We have helped many reach their goals, we have advocated for many families and most of all have made a lot of great relationships.
My educational background includes a finance and management degree from Lipscomb university, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER CFP® designation. My passion is spending time with my family and doing lots of fun outdoor activities such as camping, skeet shooting, skiing, biking. My wife Natalie is an accomplished piano performer and teacher and we have two beautiful teenagers.

Advisor - Colorado Affiliate
I am originally from New Smyrna Beach Florida and moved to Colorado in 1985 when I was honorably discharged from the United State Air Force. I entered the financial service industry 17 years ago to not only learn for myself and my family, but to also assist employed families and business owners with successful and sustainable financial planning.
Today my planning is based on the philosophy of the “begin with the end in mind”. While most of my peers put every effort into retirement accumulation, I put my efforts into spending assets in retirement. By using this philosophy, the accumulation phase becomes more intentional and dynamic, which can help with cash flow decisions throughout retirement.
I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, fly fishing, tying flies and attempting to learn how to play golf and spending time with my wife Susan. One of life’s lessons I believe is to build your life around the people you love and things you love to do. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work in this industry by helping others achieve their lifelong dreams and financial goals. Earning a persons trust and confidence is the greatest compliment one could ever receive.

After earning my Bachelors degree in Finance from Berry College, I entered my career to explore my passion as a financial advisor with Union Bank of Switzerland. I completed my training and earned the Series 7 and Series 66 accreditation in early 2005. In 2008/2009, I also earned the distinguished CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation. After spending several years with UBS and Mutual of Omaha, I decided to become an independent Financial Advisor with Colorado Financial Advisors based in the Denver Tech Center. As an independent advisor, I am able to grow my practice by helping business owners and families in Colorado accumulate as much wealth as possible and distribute it in the most tax advantaged manner allowed under our current tax code.
My passions in life are not limited to the field of financial planning. When I am not at the office , I immensely enjoy spending time with my family. I am very blessed to be married to my wife, Chrystal, who is an excellent mother and outstanding teacher for Douglas county schools. I am also very proud of my daughter, Heidi, who excels in dance and art and my son, Hudson, who enjoys golf and is an excellent baseball player. Some of my favorite activities include hiking, camping, golf, softball, and skeet shooting. One of my fulfilling endeavors is coaching my son’s youth baseball team and creating lasting friendships with the families that are part of our organization.

As a Colorado native born into a family of entrepreneurs and raised on a family farm I learned responsibility, planning and work ethic at a very young age. I attended Adams State University on a 4-year gymnastics scholarship and am a graduate of the CU School of Dentistry. I have years of experience in the medical and dental industry, as a business consultant and administrator, as a business owner, in sporting property sales and management, as an inventor with 2 granted US patents and as a financial services professional.
I love solving problems and ‘fixing things’ …. be that an ailing patient, a business that is not yet reaching its potential, or overlooked financial strategies for wealth creation and preservation. My experiences, ongoing financial education and licensing have afforded me the opportunity to join the amazing team at Colorado Financial Advisors to provide thorough and comprehensive financial solutions for clients not only in Colorado but in many states nationwide.
My husband David recently sold his successful business to move on at a bit slower pace. With proper planning he is enjoying the fruits of his labor, especially no longer needing an alarm clock. We enjoy travel, new adventures, golfing, fitness, home projects and entertaining friends and family. Our most common denominator is humor- we love to laugh!
